DELF (Diplôme d’études en langue française)

The DELF (Diploma of French Language Studies) and the DALF (Advanced Diploma of French Language Studies) are the only lifelong diplomas of French language proficiency with international recognition.

Today, there are 1200 exam centers in 175 countries that offer the DELF and the DALF – for a total of 400,000 candidates around the world each year.

DELF stands for Diplôme d’études en langue française, or Diploma of French Language Studies. Awarded by the French Ministry of National Education, DELF certifications assess French language proficiency aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Passing the DELF exam gives learnersa globally recognized certification, which they can use as proof of proficiency at universities, workplaces, and immigration offices.
